“It is something that a lot of people have been waiting for, especially those that are part of a brotherhood - they have been waiting for this throughout the whole year”
Jose Antonio Camacho Palomares, Sevilla, Spain
"La Semana Grande (Holy Week)" is a compilation film showcasing the folklore and traditions behind one of the most historic events that take place in Andalusia, Spain -- Semana Santa.
Featuring processions of pasos which can last sometimes up to 12 hours, floats with huge statues representing different scenes from the Passion of Christ and the Virgin Mary parade through the streets via designated routes.
The festival's origins can be traced as far back as the 16th century when locals first began the long-held tradition honoring the death of Christ. Semana Santa is a must-see, a passage of time where Seville is transformed into a mesmerizing display of grandeur and devotion.
This film was part of the entertainment onboard for Iberia international flights during the Spring, Summer, and Autumn of 2018.
